Dynamics of two-component solitons in optics and matter waves

Solitons, also known as solitary waves, exist in a large range of fields featuring essential nonlinear effects. They play a significant role in many subjects, such as optics, astronomy, condensed physics, biology, etc. It was first observed in 1834 by John Scott Russell in a canal in Scotland. In the subsequent years, the nonlinear waves were considered in many integrable nonlinear equations, such as nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLSE) and so on.
In this research, we mainly focus on the dynamics and stability of solitons in two-component systems. This talk consists of two parts, in the first one, we consider a dual-core nonlinear waveguide with PT symmetry, realized in the form of equal gain and loss terms carried by the coupled cores. And the second part will mainly focus on the solitons in matter waves which supported by the different nonlinearities, such as dipole-dipole interactions (DDI), microwave interactions.
