Research areas of particular interest include but are not limited to computational solid and fluid mechanics, dynamics and control, robotics, additive manufacturing, smart structures, composite materials, nano and bio mechanics, MEMS/NEMS, single and multiphase flow, design and system engineering, machine theory, renewable energy, and environmental studies

Qualifications: Ph.D. in engineering, mechanical engineering, or closely related field. Successful candidates are expected to make significant contributions to research, participate in teaching, mentoring undergraduate and graduate students and build on inter- and cross-disciplinary research strengths at TAU. While the positions are targeted at the junior faculty level, senior candidates with proven distinguished track record will also be considered.

The School of Mechanical Engineering is composed of former Solid and Fluid Mechanics departments, established separately in 1971. The School has currently 24 active faculty members, including two Israel Prize laureates in the area of engineering among its emeriti. The School has a strong interdisciplinary research programs including 20 research laboratories covering all major areas of mechanical engineering. The School enjoys strong ties with industry and location within the Tel Aviv area high-tech hub. The educational paradigm of the School is based on a combination of fundamental studies in core disciplines of mechanics with introduction of emerging and multidisciplinary areas at more advanced stages of the degree. The School has two accredited B.Sc. degree programs – a regular program in Mechanical Engineering, and a double degree in Mechanical Engineering and Earth Studies with Emphasize on Environment.  In addition to the regular M.Sc. program in Mechanical Engineering, the Schools has a M.Sc. program in Environmental Engineering and a 5-year direct track M.Sc. program for outstanding students. The current student enrollment is approximately 50 Ph.D., 260 M.Sc. and more than 600 undergraduate students. Classes are conducted in Hebrew.
