Insect-Inspired Technology

Insects are an inexhaustible source for scientists who desire to inspire ideas, processes, structures, functions, and behaviors from biology and implement them into engineering, specifically those interested in locomotion and in the improvement of robot mobility. Prof. Amir Ayali and his group at the Tel Aviv Department of Zoology are utilizing an interdisciplinary collaborative approach in the study of Insect inspired robotics. Several projects in the lab will be presented focusing on different insect models and on different means of locomotion.
