Abstract
Resonance-domain diffractive optical elements cover the region where characteristic feature sizes in surface-relief structures are comparable to the wavelength of light and feature Bragg effects. They provide large, tens of degrees, separation angles between diffraction orders, and nearly 100% Bragg diffraction efficiency that is insensitive to the groove profile details. They bring best features of volume hologram to surface-relief computer generated diffractive optical elements.
The thesis is dedicated to the design, fabrication and optical investigation of variety of resonance-domain diffractive optical elements and arrays with unprecedented performance level. Specifically, for imaging, spectroscopy, beam combining and collimation, and structured illuminations.
