Multiphase flow, deformation and wave propagation in porous media

Multiphase flows are frequent in underground porous media such as oil fields or aquifers. In both cases, seismic surveys are routinely performed.
In a first part, the numerical tools are briefly described. Single and multiphase flows are determined by Lattice Boltzmann Models and elastic deformations of the solid matrix by Lattice Spring Models. These two codes are coupled by using a momentum exchange.
In a second part, wave propagation on the pore scale is addressed in a systematic way by using the framework of homogenization which is summarized. Direct simulations can also be performed. A few comparisons with analytical solutions, results obtained by other numerical methods and experimental data are given.
Finally, some possibilities and extensions of these codes are discussed.
